Take a Bite out of Blight Clean up Project

The Take a Bite out of Blight program will conduct a Community clean-up in cooperation with the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The event will take place Saturday, March 28, 2015 off U.S. Highway 101 near Sand Mine Road between the hours of 8 A.M. - 1 P.M. 

Volunteers are sought to remove trash and other debris which has accumulated over the years.

The effort is being sponsored by Fish and Wildlife, Crescent City Lions Club, Recology and Del Norte County Supervisor Roger Gitlin.

What: Spring Whale Watch Week

Where: 24 designated whale watching sites along the coast 
Why: Trained volunteers from the Whale Watching Spoken Here 
  program will be stationed at the sites to help visitors spot 
  gray whales heading north.  Visitors will also learn about 
  whale migration and feeding habits.

Yurok Tribe Environmental Program

What: 14th Annual Kamath River Clean-up. 
When: Saturday, April 18th from 9:00am - 2:00pm
Where: Yurok Tribe main office
Why: Volunteers will help remove trash and invasive plants from 
  the banks of the Klamath River. Breakfast and lunch will be
  provided as well as a commemorative T-shirt and grocery
  tote.  Gloves and water will be provided and volunteers are
  advised to wear clothes and boots that can get dirty.
